RMOW awards $9,500 in grants to Sea to Sky Community Services
Squamish, British Columbia, Canada – Whistler parents with young children and Whistler Seniors will benefit from $9,500 in grant funding awarded to Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS) by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW).
The funding was received as part of the RMOW’s annual Community Enrichment Program (CEP), which supports not-for-profit organizations or societies that benefit the resort municipality.
SSCS received $5,000 for its Child Care Resource Referral (CCRR) Whistler Playgroup program (formerly known as Whistler Parent-Tot). The Whistler Playgroup program will use the money to support staff wages for its daily program currently running three days a week in Whistler at Myrtle Phillip Community School.
SSCS also received $4,500 for the Sea to Sky Better at Home program. Better at Home is using this funding to support Whistler seniors with simple non-medical day-to-day tasks so that they can continue to live independently and stay connected within their community.
“We would like to thank the RMOW for their continued support,” said Jaye Russell, Executive Director at SSCS. “Funding from the Community Enrichment Program is essential to provide these much-needed programs and social services to Whistler residents.”
