Our professionals meet international standards.
Year after year, our professionalism and the impact we have on our community is reflected in our CARF accreditation. CARF (founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) is an organization that recognizes health and social service providers as having met international standards for quality of service.
We received accreditation because our services and programs meet standards focused on satisfying the people we serve and because we run the organization in an effective, cost-effective, accountable way focused on meeting clear outcomes.
CARF accreditation is an independent, external process. A provider can be accredited for a one-, two- or three-year term. The accreditation process begins with an internal examination of program and business practices, followed by an on-site survey by a team of expert practitioners selected by CARF. If a provider has sufficiently demonstrated its conformance to the standards, it earns CARF accreditation. The provider must prepare a quality improvement plan to show how it is addressing any areas for improvement and annually document additional improvements it has made.
Every year we prepare a performance report as part of our CARF accreditation. We were last surveyed by CARF in March 2022, receiving a three-year accreditation that expires March 31, 2025. The survey report was very favourable.
